Brunei's Premier Fashion Oriented Photographer

All these years of shooting, the best photographer one can choose for catalogs and fashion shows has got to be Jason Ong of Masamichi Studio. If there is one thing I admire about this guy, it has to be his vision in capturing fashionable styles and impressions. Soon to be a member of the father's club, an established wedding photographer and just the happy-go-lucky guy to have around. Click on the pic below by Mr Daddy-to-be Ong himself to visit his blog.

And having a read through our choices for makeup artists, its easy to see his flavour for the bold fashion statement versus my own preference for the classical soft wedding style. Food for thought :)

One photo

Today..
Update:
Aku - You wouldnt believe me. Pantai Tungku.

PreWed

The smoke from a BBQ fire by this picnicking family made this image look like it was foggy... cool :)
The following two had pretty dull skies but the scene more than made up for it.

Another prewed under unusual circumstances.

Laughs

Rare situation for prewed

A prewed created made with the blessing of Allah SWT. Seriously.. the situation of light rain and strong winds and a bright moon created a scenario for a prewedding is that unique for me by my books.

More in protected galleries.
Update: Bride has asked to hide some of the more interesting pics due to her dress being not so appropriate. So, just believe me that those were amazing because of the large waves crashing on the rocks behind them.

Chilling at Funbread.

Continuation of my session at Funbread. A chilling session. The logo used for FB was designed by me a couple of years ago when I was still in the advertising/design field.

On a final note, when you get the chance to visit them, do check out their New York Cheese cake. I had a taste yesterday and ended up buying the entire cake to bring home to my family.

More yummy stuff at Funbread

Continued my session at funbread.

This last dish was pretty interesting and would even set the Italian off. Pasta al'Coco.. Yeah, chocolate tagliatelle with ice cream...

Sacammas Sdn Bhd

During my years in MD, I was a full-fledged science student. Yeah, the works, physics, chemistry and bio. I'd always wanted to have my own microscope but could never afford it then. Now, hehe.. maybe.. I was just recently shooting a small session for Sacammas Sdn Bhd, a local supplier of high end scientific and educational instruments. This company is destined for great things. During my session, I was introduced to a microscope with an adapter for an SLR. It rekindled my fire for all things small and beautiful. Now, its almost 1000x smaller :)

Referral link ups

Some of you may have noticed I've just installed e-referrer's code on my site. Finally found one that was nice thanks to a visit to Kentalensa's site. So now I dont have to payah2 update. hehehe. You may also have noticed that I've put them up at the top of the Friend's link section. Well, I figured if they are kind enough to link up and refer to my site, they should be prioritised up top instead of way at the bottom. Thanks for the link up, guys/gals.

Brunei Times Poll

There is a very nice poll on BT. Please go respond.

Canon's EOS-40D

My sincerest apologies to this young lady. I got her in trouble by asking her to pose with the mk3 during the show. Really sorry.

What's been up with me?

First off.. A prewed.. my classmate and good friend from SM SMJA. Havent seen her in ages.. hehe. Congratulations. I couldnt cover her wedding but she insisted I do a prewed for her.

Then I had the opportunity to sample some of Funbread's new upcoming menu dishes. A lot of new truely authentic italian style dishes and I must say the italian dishes were truely authentic. Trust me, I've lived in Italy for a while and the real deal is great.. unlike the many commercialised adapted ones we get nowadays.

Up next, covered Abdul Razak Holding's Raya Dinner.. I must say.. the entertainment was great.. I'm normally bored out of my mind at these kinds of events but ARH's dinner events never fail to put a smile on my face. It was lots of fun. The shows put on by the staff of the different departments were highly entertaining.

I was recently re-acquainted with an old friend from my times in London. Baby, being as she usually is, insisted I took some 'professionally unprofessional' pics of her and her friends.

And yesterday, after almost a year of not shooting HM related events, I was asked to cover a visit by HM to Manggis Mall. Now I remember why I stopped covering HM's visit in the first place. I feel for the photogs who shoot for the press. Everyday is like a battle. Brings new meaning to the word 'Paparazzi.'

Oh.. did i mention the looong long long wait?

Well. I've been busy :)

Pushing the limits of still image presentation

Ok. Those that know me know I tend to be bored using or creating using the same things. Everything is a constant strive for improvement. I'm pretty sure no one out there (by this I mean globally) is using this method of presentation for their wedding images and especially not to this extent. I'm pretty sure there will be others who will try to copy the style and method soon but nevermind, imitation is a form of flattery. As long as there is a decent amount of acknowledgement, no harm :)

Yeah, Brunei too can set global standards. I hope our locals here will continue to strive to get better in not just their photography but other skills too. The more your skillsets, the more you can achieve.

Anyway, I present to you the latest slideshow to be created after several new software acquisitions, 30 hours of post-process rendering, 6 hours of process rendering and unknown hours of layout and design. This is a clip made from slices of the original footage. PS. Its a 8.5mb file and may take some time to load but it'll load. I think its worth the wait. Even my wife, who is so accustomed to my work, says its nice. Hehehe. Payahkan get these compliments from her nowadays. Hahahaha. I'm sure all of your photogs out there know this by now.

Original footage is 18 mins only at 720p. I can't wait for Blu-ray and HD players to come of age. Client footage is scaled down to 480p. Also, actual footage doesnt use all these transitions. These were necessary for joining these clips.
